Welcome back to FUTcast.
We’ve got a stacked midweek update for you today. TOTW 22 has just hit packs with some big names (and some bait), and the leak floodgates have opened for this Friday’s Knockout Royalty promo. On top of that, EA dropped a mix of gamble SBCs and player SBCs that demand your attention — mostly so you know which ones to avoid. We also have two new Free Evolutions to break down.
The market is shifting fast. High-rated meta cards are bleeding value while fodder prices are shooting to the moon. If you’re holding onto 84s and 85s, you’re sitting on a goldmine.
Let’s get into the details so you can make the right moves before Friday.
Promo & Event Updates
Team Of the Week 22
The new black cards are live. It’s a week defined by a few heavy hitters at the top and a lot of meh in the middle. If you’re opening packs, you’re hunting for the Frenchman at the top.
Ousmane Dembélé (91 ST): The headliner. With 5-star skills and that blistering 92 Pace, he is the card you want in your reds. He fits the meta perfectly — agile, fast, and double 5-star potential (if the upgrades align).
Mariona (90 CM): High rated, technically gifted (89 Dribbling, 87 Passing), but hard to link for many hybrid squads. Likely high-tier fodder for most.
Karim Benzema (88 ST): A debut hat-trick for Al-Hilal earned him this spot. 88 Shooting is clinical, but 84 Pace might feel a step behind the power curve at this stage.
Rasmus Højlund (87 ST): A big physical presence with 92 Pace. He’s a tank in a straight line, but don't expect elite agility in tight spaces.
Vicky López (87 CM): A solid technical midfielder with 90 Pace and 88 Dribbling. A nuisance in the middle of the park.
Bourdieu (87 ST): Decent stats across the board, but lacks the X-factor PlayStyles to displace elite strikers.
Luis Díaz (87 LM): Great pace (90) and dribbling (89). A fantastic budget winger if you can’t afford his higher-tier versions.
Promo Takeaways
Must Have: Bremer (87 CB) is the sleeper hit here; top-tier defensive and physical stats make him a wall. Ekitike (87 ST) is another one to watch with 90 Pace — a dangerous, lengthy striker option.
Very Good: Madueke (85 CAM) is incredibly fast (93 Pace) for a central card, and Mauro Júnior (86 LB) offers 90 Pace, making him a very usable fullback.
Fodder/Trash: Casemiro (86 CDM) is simply too slow (80 Pace) for high-level play. Solanke (87 ST) has a good rating but lacks the elite pace needed to be competitive. Most of the 84s and 85s are purely SBC fuel.
Promo Leaks: Knockout Royalty
The hype is building for Friday.
The leaks suggest Knockout Royalty is centered around UCL/European competition knockout stages, featuring players known for big performances when it counts. The power curve is about to jump.
Vinícius Jr. (92 LW): The Brazilian speedster is coming. Leaked stats show 98 Pace and 94 Dribbling. This will likely be one of the most expensive cards in the game.
Rodri (92 CDM): Finally, a Rodri card that might have the pace to match his defending. 92 Passing and 88 Defending make him the ultimate anchor.
Kai Havertz (90 ST): The Arsenal forward looks dangerous with 88 Pace and 92 Dribbling. Expect him to be silky on the ball.
Enzo Fernández (88 CM): A well-rounded midfield engine with 89 Passing and 87 Dribbling.
Icons: We are looking at Lotta Schelin (92 ST) with 93 Pace/92 Shooting and Giorgio Chiellini (91 CB) coming as an SBC.
Other Notables: Bruno Guimarães (88 CM), Van de Ven, and Griezmann are all in the mix.
SBC Spotlight
We have a mix of gamble packs and specific players today. Here is the verdict on where to put your fodder.
Laura Georges (90 CB, Future Stars Hero) — Pass. Costing around 345k, this is a very costly SBC. While her defending (90) and physical (90) stats are elite, and she has the Anticipate PlayStyle, the price tag is just too high for a CB at this stage when tradeable options exist for less. Save your coins.
88+ Mixed Heroes Upgrade — Check Your Club. At ~80k, this is a tempting gamble. If you have untradeable fodder rotting in your club, it's worth a shot for a chance at a top-tier fantasy hero. However, be prepared for the likely 88-rated fodder return.
1 of 4 87+ Campaign Mix Player Pick — Risky. Coming in at ~147k, this is steeper. You get a choice of 4, which improves your odds, but the pool of Campaign players is diluted with outdated cards. Only do this if you are feeling lucky or desperate for a specific promo card you missed.
Jana Fernández (88 RB/CB) — Pass. She is cheap (~39k), but she is cheap for a reason. This is a filler SBC. No one should really be completing this in February unless you run a full Liga F squad and desperately need a link. Even then, there are better options.

Market Watch
Market Summary: The market is currently split. High-rated meta cards and the general index (Index 100) are cooling off (-3.63%), likely due to panic selling ahead of the Knockout Royalty promo. However, the fodder market is absolutely exploding due to the Gamble SBCs.
Risers: Index 84 is up a massive 10.79%, and Index 85 is up 9.07%. The community is draining the supply of these mid-tier golds to complete the 88+ Hero and Campaign picks.
Fallers: The top end of the market (Index 100) is down. People are liquidating assets like Mbappe and high-end Icons to have coins ready for Friday.
Strategy: SELL your 84s and 85s. If you have tradeable David Soria, Yilmaz, or any random 84/85 rated gold sitting in your transfer list, list them immediately. You are selling into peak hype. Do not buy high-end meta teams right now; wait for the Friday panic selling when the new promo drops.
Evolutions
We have two new EVOs today, both Free.
Shove Off (Free)
Requirements: Max 86 OVR, Max 10 PlayStyles.
Rewards: +1 Overall, +3 Dribbling, +4 Physical. PlayStyles: Bruiser & Press Proven.
Verdict: Okay Utility. It's a small boost. Using this on a card like Nuno Mendes takes him from an 86 to an 87, giving him that extra physical edge (81 Physical) he often lacks. It’s free, so you might as well use it on a fullback who needs a strength boost, but it won't transform your team.
The Duck (Free)
Requirements: Max 87 OVR, Max 92 Pace, Born after 2002-01-30.
Rewards: A massive +18 Overall boost (for lower rated cards). +20 Acceleration, +25 Agility/Balance, +30 Finishing.
Best Options: Look for hidden gems like Hansen-Aarøen (goes from 62 -> 88) or Schertenleib (74 -> 88).
Verdict: Must Do. This is a Glow Up Evo. It can take a silver/bronze card and turn them into a competitive beast.
Quick Hits
TOTW 22: Dembélé is the prize; Bremer is the budget beast.
Leaks: Vinícius Jr. and Rodri are coming Friday for Knockout Royalty.
SBCs: Avoid Laura Georges and Jana; gamble on the Hero Upgrade if you have fodder.
Market: Sell 84s/85s NOW.
Evos: The Duck is a massive W for turning youngsters into stars.
Good luck with your red picks, and don't get baited by the Laura Georges SBC.
See you Friday for the full Knockout Royalty breakdown,
Shahmeer
